We’ve all heard that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach but did you know the way to a woman’s heart is through fabulous shoes? To women, shoes are like a best friend; they help women stand taller and put their best foot forward.

Shoes are the one staple piece in a women’s closet that will always fit, no matter if they gain or lose a few pounds. They have a way of making women feel powerful and confident. And you can never have too many pairs! “I have an extensive shoe collection and each pair creates a different personality for me when I put them on,” said Sarah Garrido, 22, a self-proclaimed shoe over.

Garrido, who admits shoe shopping is therapeutic for her, recently had to rebuild her walk in closet when the shelves suddenly collapsed from the excessive weight of all her shoes. “I heard a loud crash that immediately woke me up, when I opened my closet door, I almost cried seeing all my beautiful shoes scattered on the floor,” said Garrido.

“I spend a lot of money on shoes but they are so worth it, said Garrido, who admits buying the same pair of shoes in multiple colors. She speaks of shoes as one her many passions that brings her complete happiness and a sparkle in her eye.

“I prefer for a man to buy me shoes instead of sending flowers that will die within the week,” said Garrido. She added, “If he buys me shoes and can understand my love for them, he will definitely be a keeper in my book.”

So it seems the best way for a man to earn points with the women he is pursuing is by simply supporting her love for shoes. And adding to her collection won’t hurt either!

Today, more than ever the modern girl is absolutely okay and capable with being on her own. It’s what has become known as the Independent Women Movement, made popular and glamorized by shows such as, Sex in the City and catchy pop tunes, like Beyonce’s 2008 hit single, “Single Ladies.”

As a 23 year old single, young lady, on the verge of graduating college, living on my own in the exciting city of Miami and working as a marketing assistant for two of the hottest night clubs in South Florida; I embrace my single and fabulous lives style.

At this point in my life, I am focused on school, work and having fun with my amazing circle of single best friends. My friends and I are pretty much at the same point in our lives right now with our priorities and don’t really have time for a serious relationship. We participate in the dating scene simply for fun but mostly just have our regularly scheduled, “girl’s night out.”

This blog will focus mostly on single women topics and interests, such as school, career, shopping, make up, shoes, fashion, dating etc. No topic is off limit.

After all, we are young, single and fabulous… and just want to have fun!
